Place Recognised

Site Recognised - another facility for importers using Alfa Warehouses.

Do you import special goods? Are they difficult to transport due to their dimensions and characteristics?

Remember that their presentation to customs may take place at so-called recognised places.

This means that the goods do not have to be delivered to the customs offices and are cleared at their final destination accepting the above-mentioned status.

This makes it possible to carry out a wide variety of customs operations on goods imported from third countries. This is a major convenience for the logistics operator, as he does not have to send his drivers and vehicles to customs offices to complete the necessary procedures there.

Place Recognised - handling customs procedures

At the recognised place, the so-called presentation, i.e. notification to the customs authorities of the arrival of goods from third countries, can be made. In this context, the recognised place is used to either close or open transit procedures, such as TIR or WPT, for example. This can take place either under the standard procedure or the simplified procedure. The recognised place can also be used for transhipment or reloading, which is still carried out in transit without the need to close one transit operation and open another.

Recognised place - short-term storage of goods

Goods may be stored under customs seal for a short period at a recognised place. In a standard situation it is only3 days after said presentation of goods. On the other hand, when an entity has AEO status, i.e. is a so-called authorised economic operator, this period is doubled to 6 days. Recognised storage is usually used when the importer does not have a complete set of documents needed for customs procedures and wants, for example, to release the means of transport in order to continue transport. Goods that are temporarily stored in a recognised location, any customs operation must be carried out in its entirety.

Alfa Warehouses has its own Alfa Customs Agency

The condition for benefiting from this facility is that the place of delivery of the goods is recognised by the customs authority. This place may be used by those who can ensure the proper execution of customs operations and provide a customs security

Attention!

The period of storage of the goods at a recognised place should not exceed 3 days or 6 days in the case of entities having the status of authorised consignee.

The importer can also use this privilege as an authorised consignee in a transit procedure. By acquiring the latter privilege, he will be able to place the goods under the normal clearance procedure at the recognised place of entry, which he uses on a daily basis.

The obvious benefit of these solutions will be a reduction in the time it takes to clear non-standard goods through customs and a reduction in their transport in the urban cycle. This will also minimise the risk of damage to them and exclude the need to obtain additional permits for their transport.

In the case of entities holding an AEO certificate, access to these privileges should be even more widespread. This is because such entities meet all the conditions for applying for the said place. For them, this institution should also be available in the case of importing specific goods (dangerous goods, excise goods, sensitive goods).
