Domestic warehouse, bonded warehouse and temporary storage warehouse - what are they and how do they differ?

Storage of goods is one of the most important elements of any company's costs. When deciding to use a third-party provider for warehousing services, you need to be sure that you have chosen the right company.
Warehousing is understood as a process or set of activities involving the management of finished goods and raw materials for production or semi-products from the time they are received until the cargo is released for further transportation.
The scope mainly includes the safe storage of goods according to guidelines and ensuring the proper flow of cargo in the warehouse.

Our warehouse located in Gdansk meets all standards and the highest technical requirements.
This facility consists of three sections:
- Domestic warehouse - we store goods that are authorized in the EU.
The goods come from an EU or non-EU country and have already been cleared, giving them Community status and allowing them to be traded in EU countries .
- Customs warehouse - we store in it goods imported from countries outside the EU, which have not yet been cleared (released for circulation in the EU ), goods that are stored in a customs warehouse can be subject to the procedure of release for circulation, but also the procedure of transit. In case the goods do not meet the requirements for release for circulation in the EU, a corrective procedure may be carried out. Such procedures, which are offered by Alfa Warhouses, generally include changes to equipment nameplates, the addition or replacement of instructions.
In addition, when UC determines such a procedure we offer our customers the service of disposal of goods. - Temporary storage warehouse (MCS) - we store unreleased goods (not allowed in the EU), but the storage time must not exceed 90 days from the time of unloading. After this time, the customer must have the goods cleared or transferred to a bonded warehouse.
After a period of 90 days of storage in a temporary storage warehouse, a customs-approved treatment must be assigned. One of these may be to place the goods under the release for circulation procedure, another destination may be to place the goods under the transit procedure or the customs warehousing procedure, and a third solution is the possibility of moving the goods by means of the transit procedure.
No operations changing the form of the transported goods (repair procedures, repacking) can be performed on the MCS without the approval of Customs.
