Storage - what do we need to know in order to efficiently prepare the best storage offer for you?

Find out what information the logistics operator needs to correctly identify the customer's needs and prepare a tailor-made offer

Below we have outlined in a few steps how you can easily get an offer tailored to your needs

Determination of the customs status of the goods together with the determination of customs action

When determining the details of the operation, the first thing we determine is what customs status the goods have.

This way, we know what zone of the warehouse the reception will be for and what procedures we will have to follow when handling.

Determination of the name of the good, the neutrality of the good

To determine whether the goods are not ADR or subject to special regulations, e.g. waste.

By doing so, we acquire knowledge of what procedures we will rely on when handling goods.

Determination of activities to be performed in relation to the goods

We agree with the client:

  • Which container (40", 20", 45" etc.) or FTL (tandem, solo, tractor-trailer) will be transshipped from?
  •  what is the weight and quantity of the goods?
  •  what is the volume of transhipments (specify quantity and frequency)?
  • Are the goods of one type or are there different SKUs?
  • if there are different types, is there to be segregation during unloading (if the goods are to be released into different SKUs then segregation must take place)?
  • how should the goods be accepted into the WMS system (remember that the goods should be accepted into the system as the customer will call them up for collection, this could be the batch number, the name of the goods, the number of the car that brought them in, the container number, the date they entered the warehouse)?
  • if the goods are palletised, if not, would the customer like them palletised, if so on which pallets (euro, industrial, disposable)?
  • if palletising automatically includes wrapping, does the customer want dividers between the pallets and the goods?
  • Will the goods be issued 1 to 1, or will the goods be put together for issue?
  • Will releases be whole pallet or also for couriers?
  • if for couriers, who organises the cartons and packing materials?
  • what is the volume per issue and what type - i.e. how many full-pallet dispatches, how many dispatches for couriers, how many picks per day?

Contact us and let's agree on the above to prepare a tailor-made offer for you
